Apply to be a 2019 NLC-Maine Fellow!

UPDATE: The application window for the 2019 Class of Fellows has closed. Think you might be interested in applying for the 2020 class? Let us know here and we'll keep you in the loop!

New Leaders Council - Maine is seeking young leaders from across the state to join the 2019 class of fellows!

The NLC Institute is the leading training program for progressive young professionals across the country. This intensive program equips fellows with the knowledge and skills to launch a business, manage a campaign, communicate through public narrative, effectively use digital media, and become stronger leaders in their community.

NLC-Maine's fifth annual class of 15-20 fellows commit to attending the Institute for one weekend a month over the course of five months, beginning in January 2019. They will participate in trainings on topics from personal leadership to finance to political management. During the 2018 Institute, workshops and trainings were led by local journalists, members of the Maine State Legislature and the Portland City Council, social justice advocates, local and national campaign managers, activists, and business leaders. Fellows also complete a capstone project, and have the option to be paired with a local mentor in their industry.

NLC Fellows are progressive advocates, risk-takers, and emerging leaders in their field. They come from all sectors and have diverse backgrounds and interests. For the 2019 class, we are actively seeking candidates that represent the true diversity of Maine, including life-long Mainers, recent transplants, Mainers of color, and members of the immigrant and refugee community.

Applications for our 2019 class of NLC-Maine Fellows are open! Apply here. The deadline to submit your application is October 1st, 2018.
