Our fifth annual Institute will kick off in January 2019, and will be held this year at Peloton Labs in Portland's West End.
Institute weekends are as follows:
Each Institute weekend starts off with a casual breakfast together, which is a great informal time to build relationships with other Fellows. The day that follows is packed with a combination of workshops led by national trainers or leaders from across Maine and panel discussions with local experts in business, politics, advocacy, fundraising, marketing, and other fields. Most days, fellows also have focused time with a small group that will be a consistent support for each other throughout the Institute. Across the five weekends of Institute, Fellows will spend time preparing for work with their mentors, working on and getting feedback on their capstone project, and collectively planning the NLC-Maine Fundraiser. We’ll break mid-day for a potluck lunch. On Saturday evenings of each Institute, we’ll head out to a local bar or other establishment for some more informal time together - often joined by NLC-Maine alumni and board members. Other family and friends are always invited, too!
Our Institute speakers and guests shift every year, with a few who graciously have shared their time and skills with us year after year. For a window into what the Institutes have looked like in the past, check out a detailed breakdown of what fellows were up to in the 2017 Institute.
